Before Darrow, Palamedes had little reason to think about the Resurrection itself, for concrete evidence about what happened is scarce, and original records almost nonexistent. Now, he finds himself explaining it regular and often reflects, as he does now, just how little he knows for certain. "Climate catastrophe was part of it. People left the planet, in fact, as it became less and less habitable. And then there was some kind of nuclear accident--or it may have been a war." He shrugs, disliking how little he can say for certain. "Understand, it was ten thousand years ago, and the best accounts we have were written hundreds of years after the fact. Records are awfully scarce from the period immediately pre- and post-Resurrection."
